Obama asks Congress...

The Islams State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) is a Islamist group that controls the territory of  Iraq and Syria and some other areas in the Middle East. This group is known for committing atrocious violence against religion and ethnic groups, women, girls, Muslims, and sects. They are also responsible for murdering Americans such as James Foley, Steven Sotloff, Abdul-Rahman Peter Kassig, and Kayla Mueller. The ISIL has also threatened numerous times the United States by affirming future terrorist attacks in the country. For those reasons President Barack Obama has sent an appeal to congress in Feb 11, 2015 to Authorize Military Force against ISIL. In the documents sent to Congress, Obama has mentioned all of the atrocities committed by the ISIL. Obama claims that this violent group must be degraded and defeat in order for everyone who is a target of the ISIL to be safe and in peace. Obama also says to be 'working with the Congress to pass a bipartisan authorization for the use of military force (AUMF) against ISIL.' and that he has 'directed a comprehensive and sustained strategy to degrade and defeat ISIL. As part of this strategy, U.S. military forces are conducting a systematic campaign of airstrikes against ISIL in Iraq and Syria'.

What were the effects of Prohibition on Society?

Prohibition is defined as the time period where the consumption, transportation and sale of alcohol were illegal.
 Effects upon society:
1-  The economy was impacted in the U.S because of the increase of crime. A large amount of money was spent on maintaining and managing the number of prisoners that were in jail for committing prohibiting crimes.

2-  As time went by, prohibition was being more strict and people were fighting in favor of their right to consume alcohol. Those who were in favor and those who were against its consumption were in conflict, and due to that there was a rise in the crime rates all round the country, specially in Chicago.

3-  Since the consumption of alcohol was totally banned, many producers had to shut-down their industries, however, many of them continued with the production of the beverages illegally and made many of them criminals.

4- As the addiction for alcohol grew more and more the illegal circulation of liquor increased. Bootleggers were the consequence of this prohibition.  Bootleggers were drinkers who hid flasks of liquor in the leg of their boots or suppliers of illegal alcohol.

5- Speakeasy was expanding as the prohibition did too. Speakeasy was a type of bar that would disguise its self as a jazz bar and sell alcohol beverages.
